We took just a few steps inside the front door to Cobo hall this morning and we saw first our good friends from Italdesign. They brought with them a neat little toy, Girogetto’s celebration of his 50th anniversary of designing: the GG50 Ferrari concept. It features a fabulous one-piece glass oof hat was made in house! The body is all handcrafted – mostly from Aluminun, some from carbon fiber. Bravo!

Inside the show, mostly production cars are visible, and a few covered concept cars which are fun to look at under thick, dark sheets and guess at the exact shape of the vehicle beneath.

On our left, we see aqua seafoam pride from Volvo. Kids in bright blue walk around excited to tell you about Volvo’s great new products

GM shows off  little hometown college pride.

The new Pontiac Solstice "Turbo" shows off its good looks and flips its lid.

An interesting stage from Buick promises a new car to be displayed.

A dark room tucked away in the middle of the GM stand shows off a Saturn Sky lit up with projections of its internal features projected on its body work.

Follow the red line to the Saturn (ION and VUE) Red Line.

Chevy shows off its performance aSSault.

A car yet to be shown, not quite fully covered…

Maserati elegance and sport on display; the new Quattroporte Sport GT, the GranSport  Spyder, and the executive Quattroportte.

The Lamborghini Miura concept, yet to be shown in person.

The Ferrari stand, with stunning Italian ladies – in sheetmetal, in carbon fiber, and in the flesh.

Dodge has just one thing to say: Charger!!
