From YourSITE.com Ferrari 16th May 2004 - Three Ferraris in the first three places of the FIA GT race held today at Germany’s Hockenheim circuit.
The Ferrari team of BMS Scuderia Italia lead procession in what was a total stomping of the entire field at Hockheim on Sunday. The Ferrari 550's looked like they were conducting a racing clinic for the rest of the Porshe's, BMW's, Audi's & Mercedes left somewhere in the distance.
Needless to say the FIA GT series is really a product demonstration series and what a great way to show how the Ferrari 550 stacks up against the rest of world. BMS Scuderia Italia team now has an excellent opportunity to strengthen it's grip on a championship crown with the Hockheim results. The driving team of Capperllari & Gollin is also series points leaders as well. Now it's on to circuit at Brno. Thanks to our friends at Ferrari for supply these few but excellent photos.
Fifth and sixth places went to the Ferrari 575 GTC cars of the G.P.C. Giesse team in the hands of Naspetti/Hezemans and Peter/Babini respectively. The sixth placed crew had been leading until the final lap when a tyre problem saw them slide down the order.
The Ferrari 360 GTC of Pescatori and De Simone (G.P.C. Giesse) finished tenth overall, third in the N-GT class, behind the Porsches of Maassen/Luhr and of the leading duo in the overall classification of this category, Ortelli/Collard. The Italian team’s car was leading the N-GT race until it struggled to leave the pits after its final pit stop. The next round of the FIA GT series takes place at Brno (Czech Republic,) on 30th May. © Copyright 2001 by YourSITE.com |
