From YourSITE.com Concorso Italiano
The Concorso Italiano has always served as a great opening event for the Monterey car weekend in August. The massive flux of Italian dream machinery that pours onto the Monterey Peninsula is first focused on the Black Horse golf course in the Fort Ord community, just over the hill from the Laguna Seca racetrack.
The sounds of high-pitched, small displacement Italian V6's, V8's and V12's serve as trumpets to announce the entering of a huge crowd of automotive enthusiasts and beloved automotive personalities.
At Concorso Italiano, the celebration is so huge, it is easy to get lost in the sea of red automobiles, and it is hard to find a focus. This year, rather than struggling with that or trying to take all of it in, we just decided to enjoy this wonderful celebration of Italian engineering and art. And so we share with you the best of our photographic records of the event - this is really what Concorso is all about, enjoying beautiful automobiles. So, we invite you to do the same: Mongia! Mongia!
